Our Spaces for Youth #S4Dmanual is designed to provide both strategic guidance and practical tools for implementing Sport Dor Development initiatives in diverse contexts. It reflects our belief that sport is more than just physical activity, but a powerful tool for education, inclusion, and community development.
The #Spaces4YouthManual shares our applied #S4Dapproach, along with insights gained from applying the methodology in Egyptian communities. It means that the content presented in the manual does not claim to represent the definitive #S4Dmethodology, but it rather reflects our extensive practical experience in designing and implementing S4D programmes that are context-specific, inclusive, and impactful.
Our approach and activities are built around a specific framework model used within our programme: At the core of the #SpacesS4Dmodel is a pyramid framework that outlines a possible developmental pathway for young people participating in S4D programmes. The pyramid illustrates the sequential nature of learning processes and the progressive acquisition of skills and capacities by the target group. In addition, our manual provides detailed descriptions of activities and games used in Sport for Development.
The Spaces for Youth Egypt activities were realized within the framework of cooperation between the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), implementing on behalf of the German Government with co-funding from the European Union through the Equal Opportunities & Social Development Project. The #S4D implementation consortium was formed by @ISA-youth, @SPIN-Sport-Innovation, and @Outreach-Egypt-Consultancy-for-Development together with an amazing team of local #SpacesS4Dcoaches and #SpacesS4Dmentors.
